A controversial Christopher Columbus statue is set to be removed from City Hall — but how soon and where it ends up is anyone’s guess.
A City Council committee Wednesday voted unanimously to gather public input, in partnership with San Jose State, about where the statue should go and what should replace it. The council committee will discuss the statue again in November after the public meetings. The decision came after an hour of heated public testimony — all pushing for the statue’s removal.
