Santa Barbara County announced that this year's I Madonnari Italian Street Painting Festival will be held online during Memorial Day weekend. The I Madonnari Festival brings together street painters and chalk artists to create over 100 colorful pastel masterpieces on the plaza pavement outside of Old Mission Santa Barbara each year.
However, due to COVID-19 concerns, this year's festival will consist of drawings created by invited artists' on their driveways from May 23 to 25. Pictures and video of the art will be shared on the I Madonnari Instagram (@imadonnari) and Facebook pages which will also display live updates and a Chalk for Kids program.
