As part of the neighborhood's Christmas Festa celebration, an artisan gift market and tree lighting ceremony is planned in Little Italy this weekend. The artisan gift market, at the University Village Association offices, 1453 W. Taylor St., will be open 3-7 p.m. Saturday and 1-5 p.m. Sunday.

At the market, shoppers can pick up handcrafted gifts from Little Italy stores and artisans, including jewelry, greeting cards, soap, pottery, children's aprons, spices, wine bottle decor, local history books and more. Some market vendors only accept cash.
