Can you name the seven principal bridges of San Francisco Bay? Perhaps least known is the Carquinez Bridge which connects the East Bay to Vallejo. Also obscure, but known well to the Silicon Valley crowd, is the Dumbarton Bridge, the shortest bridge over the Bay, which connects Palo Alto to Newark across the water.
Then, of course, we have the Richmond Bridge which connects Marin to the East Bay and the San Matteo Bridge which connects San Francisco peninsula to the East Bay. The last two bridges in this Bay of Bridges are the most iconic: the Golden Gate Bridge and the Bay Bridge.
