Subscriptions are on sale now for San Francisco Opera's 92nd season, opening Sept. 5 at War Memorial Opera House with Bellini's "Norma," starring soprano Sondra Radvanovsky in the bel canto title role. A compelling performer, she recently sang that role to strong reviews at New York's Metropolitan Opera.
But that's only part of what makes David Gockley happy. Discussing details of the 2014-15 season, San Francisco Opera's general director is "excited to go back to ten operas," he said, up from eight productions in the current season.
