The Clarksburg Italian Heritage Festival is set to get underway Friday. Some notable Main Stage performers include Carmelina, John Angotti, and former Journey lead vocalist Steve Augeri. But these are not the only entertainers scheduled to perform. The Showcase Stage, which is on the corner of 2nd and Main Streets in Clarksburg.
Pam Krall, the producer and director of the Showcase Stage, said the purpose is to showcase local talent from North Central West Virginia, especially young performers ages 7 to 19. "In order for the festival to survive for years to come, we have to get the interest of our young people," she said.
