Nothing makes William Schievella happier than watching his father play Santa Claus for youngsters at the annual Big Brothers Big Sisters of New Jersey Christmas party. For the past 12 years, the Italian American Police Society of New Jersey has hosted a Christmas Party at the Whippany American Legion Hall with Daniel Schievella, as Santa, handing out bags of toys.
"Santa Claus is my dad. He's been doing this for 20 years. He will never relent to let anybody else do it. And Mrs. Claus is my mom. They love it. They went out and bought their own costumes. So that's it, they come as a package," said Schievella, 49, founder and president of the Italian American Police Society of New Jersey.
