The Italian Cultural Society of North Brunswick held its annual Festa di San Giuseppe at the Pines Manor in Edison on March 18. Guests enjoyed a celebration which included a buffet dinner, traditional sfinge for dessert, music, dancing and festivities. This year, the society bestowed its all-expenses paid scholarship for a six-week study at a university in Rome to Christopher Spataro, a senior at North Brunswick Township High School.
In addition, there were two other honorees: Angelo Bianchi, a legacy in the Italian community, who read and explained his poem, “I Am an Italian American” and Sr. Nicolina Spolzino, of the Parish of the Visitation in New Brunswick, who is celebrating 60 years as a St. Lucy Filipini nun.
