Jersey City’s longest-running Italian street festival, La Festa Italiana, is back after being canceled last year due to the COVID pandemic. The summer staple that draws in thousands from the surrounding areas will take place from August 11th – 15th in downtown Jersey City. The festival began in 1902 as a street festival in honor of Our Lady of the Assumption and St. Rocco. It became a celebration for thousands of parishioners at Holy Rosary Church, the first Italian Parish in the State of New Jersey, according to the official festival website.
