The township chapter of UNICO, the national Italian-American service organization, is accepting applications from young women, one of whom will be chosen to represent the local chapter as Miss Hillsborough UNICO 2016 at various public functions.

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

· Ancestry must be at least 50 percent Italian and must be a resident of Hillsborough;

· Between the ages of 18-25 and be continuing their education;

· Candidates must be comfortable speaking in public;

· Must learn the motto and purpose of UNICO.

One of the first public appearances for Miss Hillsborough UNICO will be at the Hillsborough Rotary Fair Family Fun Day Aug. 20, followed by the John Basilone Parade in Raritan Sept. 18.
