New documentary on the assimilation of Italian Americans

A documentary on the assimilation of Italian Americans, La Mia Strada or My Road screens May 19 at 2 p.m. in at Rowan University, New Jersey.

The filmmaker, Michael DiLauro, a professor at Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh and a former professor at Rowan University, will introduce the film and lead a discussion.

Admission to the screening is $12 for adults, $5 for students with I.D. Tickets can be purchased at the door or in advance at www.mybigeyemedia.com/events/

Light refreshments will be served. Proceeds go toward scholarships for students studying the Italian language and to fund the 10th Annual Italian Heritage Festival of Gloucester County to be held on September 29.
