
The 36th annual St. Vitus Parish Festival runs Aug. 2-5, beginning at 6 p.m. nightly at the church grounds, located at 910 S. Mercer St. Highlights include fireworks by Pyrotechnico, kiddieland rides and concessions by Thomas Family Amusement, games, Italian-American entertainment, a grand raffle and a baby doll dance. The food menu includes: nightly Italian dinner specials plus cavatelli, pasta fagiola, Italian sausage, meatball, eggplant and steak sandwiches along with chicken or lamb on the rod, pizza, pizza greens, fried dough, pepperoni puffs and Casa de Dolce (House of Italian treats).
The entertainment schedule includes: The Faiellas Strolling Musicians, 6 to 9 p.m. Aug. 2; Lawrence County Brass, 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 2; Steve Fazzini, 6 to 7 p.m. Aug. 3; The Red Coat Band, 7 to 9 p.m. Aug. 3; baby doll dance, 9:30 p.m. Aug. 3; The Butch Nichols Band, 6 to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 4; Lawrence County Brass, 7 to 9 p.m. Aug. 4; The Tonelli Brothers, 8 to 10 p.m. Aug. 4; morra contest, 6 p.m. Aug. 5; Teresa Ross, 6:30 to 7:15 p.m. Aug. 5; The Frank Gallo Band, 8 to 10 p.m. Aug. 5; and fireworks, 10:30 p.m. Aug. 5.
