Join the History Center for a workshop on preserving your Italian heritage through family heirlooms. Enjoy a behind-the-scenes tour and learn best practices for handling and storing paper items and three-dimensional objects with the History Center's Curator of the Italian American Program Melissa E. Marinaro, Registrar Nicole Hayduk, and Conservation Services Manager Barb Antel.
Explore staff-only areas of the Sigo Falk Collections Center and the Museum Conservation Center to gain insider knowledge about how the museum catalogs artifacts and houses archives.
This workshop costs $20 and includes free admission to the History Center following the program. No special admission discounts apply. Light refreshments will be served.
Optional Preservation Kit
Preservation kit includes an archival box with metal edges and a 5 x 7 interior dimension. Twenty-five inert polymer sleeves and 25 acid-free blank cards (5 x 7 each) are provided, and recommended for use in storing photographic prints, negatives, or small paper items such as postcards or recipes. The preservation kit costs $15.
