Italian culture and cuisine will be celebrated Aug. 9 to 11 at the San Rocco Festa in Center Township Municipal Park. The 94th annual festival, named for the patron saint of Patrica, Italy, serves as a homecoming for many former Beaver Valley residents. The Festa opens each day at 5:30 p.m., serving up homemade Italian food along with more traditional festival fare.
Local music legend Frankie Capri kicks off the entertainment each evening. Keeping with tradition, the resident San Rocco Festa Band, under the direction of Ron Steffanina and Mark Godwin, performs Italian-style music on Friday and Sunday nights. At 7:30 p.m. Aug. 10, festival-goers will be dazzled by three-time world champion accordion player Cory Pesaturo, whose musical skills earned him a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records.
