Since 1933, the St. Marco Society in Temple has been a welcoming sanctuary for generations of Italian immigrants to America; a place where the traditions and culture of the old country have been preserved and celebrated in the culture, the language and, most of all, the food.
This year, the Italian-American cultural society is hoping to share its rich heritage with the whole community as it celebrates the 80th anniversary of its founding at the St. Marco Italian Food Festival on Saturday and Sunday at its headquarters at 4945 Commerce St.
