Members of the Rehoboth Area Chapter of UNICO National met midsummer to discuss the past year’s events and lay plans for the coming year. The first fund-raiser will be a Bocce Tournament held in September at Mulligan’s Pointe in Georgetown, which will provide funds for the annual Brian Piccolo Award Ceremony in November.
That event grants gifts to all nominees and $1,000 to a local high school team represented by an athlete of Italian heritage nominated by team members, faculty and coaches. Students in good academic standing are honored for their accomplishments and dedication to their school and team. Nominees are also encouraged to include this award on applications for higher learning and employment.
