The West Virginia Italian Heritage Festival has been canceled for the second straight year. Board Chairman Tyler Terango told WV News that the festival’s board voted unanimously during an emergency meeting Saturday to cancel this year’s festival, which was slated to open Friday at Jackson Square.
“This is definitely the hardest decision the board has had to make and the hardest that I’ve been involved in,” Terango said. “But it’s the right thing to do for the safety of our community. With the rising COVID-19 numbers, we just didn’t feel it was safe.”
