Mixing business with pleasure is typically ill-advised, but it’s worked out pretty well for Aubrey Plaza and her long-term partner Jeff Baena. “The Little Hours,” written and directed by Baena, is the third feature that the couple has worked on together. The film also stars husband and wife Dave Franco and Alison Brie—making the international filming feel, in part, like a couples getaway.
“We’re all friends. The whole gang felt like we were at a big, grown-up camp in Italy. It was really fun,” Plaza said. “When we weren’t shooting it felt like, ‘Oh wow, we’re kind of on a vacation.’” Of course, it’s hard for work not to feel like play when you’re clocking in under the Tuscan sun.
