When Italian opera singer Andrea Bocelli performs in the Chicago area, he often makes a trip to dine at Pescatore Palace in Franklin Park. The restaurant's owner, Vito Barbanente, calls their relationship, "a spiritual friendship."
Bocelli's most recent visit took place on June 10. In town to perform at Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Barbanente said Bocelli welcomed a special guest. Cory Bollettino, a young singer, had approached Barbanente about meeting Bocelli. Like Bocelli, Bollettino is blind.
