
The 36th Annual Mass and commemorative ceremony honoring the more than 3,000 Italian prisoners of war who were interred at Camp Atterbury during World War II will be held at Our Lady’s Chapel in the Meadow (La Cappella della Madonna) on Sunday, Sept. 14, at Camp Atterbury.
Blending tradition, honor, international heritage and religious solemnity, the event is co-sponsored by the Camp Atterbury Veterans Memorial Association and the Italian Heritage Society and will begin at 10 a.m. with the recitation of the rosary. The presentation will include the posting of colors and Taps, from the Indy Metropolitan Military Honor Guard.
