When Larry Bergnach brings back the music and memories of popular Italian singers on Wednesday, April 15, at 1:30 p.m. at The Summit of Uptown, 10 N. Summit, Park Ridge, he will help you remember Mario Lanza, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Perry Como, Julius La Rosa, Frankie Laine, Vic Damone, and Dean Martin as well as favorites from orchestra leader Guy Lombardo. But will you recall Russ Columbo?

Known as the Bing Crosby of the 30s, Colombo was an American heart throb whose singing and acting career was cut short by a tragic accident when he was just 26 years old. Most famous for his songs You Call It Madness, But I Call It Love, and Prisoner of Love-which has been recorded by Frank Sinatra, Jo Stafford, Art Tatum, Perry Como, the Ink Spots, Mildred Bailey and Lena Horne-Columbo began his career in entertainment as a violinist when he was just 13.
