The Italian American Cultural Club will celebrate the organization’s 100th anniversary with a special event planned for May 18 at St. Florian Hall in Wintersville, OH. Founded in 1925 as the Steubenville Dramatic Club, in which members performed a variety of Italian operas, the organization has evolved throughout the years.
During the 40’s, the club merged with the Columbus club, becoming the Columbus Dramatic Club, according to officials. In 1952, the organization became independent once again. Members re-organized and created the official title … the Italian American Cultural Club. “The IACC has always been dedicated to promote, preserve and protect the Italian heritage,” members stated.
