Italian immigrants’ role in Dayton memorable

Today, one of the best-kept sections at the Dayton Cemetery is where 20 or more different Italian immigrant family members have been laid to rest in peace.

After a number of lively Italian ladies gathered at historian Kay Winters' house recently to reminisce about their families' ancestors who settled in Dayton to raise their families on farms and ranches in the latter 1800s and 1900s, it is possible that their ancestors' peace and quiet might have been disturbed, but in a manner they would have enjoyed.
