Lissa Druss Christman, winner of Mazzei Award

River Forest resident Lissa Druss Christman, 48, recently was awarded the Mazzei Award from the Joint Civic Committee of Italian Americans. The award, named for Tuscan physician and American Revolution supporter Filippo Mazzei, recognizes an individual with extraordinary public affairs skills. Christman answered a few questions for the Forest Leaves on June 9.

Q: Tell me about your job and background.

A: I do public affairs and crisis and corporate communications. It really stems from my background as a journalist. Now I just help mitigate damage. I was a TV journalist and spent 21 years in news and sports. I ended my TV career as the executive producer at Comcast SportsNet Chicago. I've been with Serafin & Associates for five years.
