Mary Marino, the Italian-born homemaker of Monroe who celebrated her 110th birthday in November and who may be the oldest person in Michigan, died Saturday night at Fountain View of Monroe, where she has lived since May.
Mrs. Marino suffered two mild heart attacks this past year and had slowed down some from her once busy lifestyle. But she was quite alert and enjoyed relatively good health in mid-November when she was featured in a story in the Monroe News about her latest birthday. "I have a hard time hearing and sometimes I'm a little cranky and feisty," she said in the story.
