He’s only 10, but he’s been meeting with government leaders for years. In fact, Tyler Carcelli has a July date in Washington, D.C., during which he will personally meet with a congressman and two senators. Of course, this delegate will be accompanied on that trip by his mother, Kimberly Carcelli.
Tyler, who is finishing up the fourth grade at Center Elementary School in Mayfield, has been tabbed as one of just four Ohio youngsters -- and 160 from across the nation -- to meet with U.S. House and Senate representatives as part of the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) 2019 Children’s Congress. There, he will join other young people ages 4-17, as well as celebrities, in telling his personal story of living with Type 1 diabetes.
