Our nation's veterans were honored throughout the Ohio Valley Friday, and some in Bellaire were given not just respect, but also a free meal. Sons of Italy in Bellaire used Veterans Day as a way to give an Italian thank you to those who fought for our country.

From 3 until 7 p.m., volunteers at Sons of Italy served spaghetti dinners to veterans and their families. They received a free meal of pasta, meatballs, bread and salad. Since the tradition began, there has been an average of 400 people each year that have come to out to enjoy the dinner.
