The Summit County Italian-American Festival will return to Lock 3 in downtown Akron (OH) starting today, July 10, and running through Saturday, July 12. This year marks the 75th year for the festival, which is organized by the Council of Italian American Societies of Summit County. Admission is free for the fest, which offers Italian and American foods, musical entertainment and fireworks displays.
The festival’s family day activities are scheduled from noon to 5 p.m. and include children’s entertainment, face painting and a balloon artist. Additional festivities include: A Catholic Mass at 5 p.m. at the Civic Theatre Grand Lobby; Roxxymoron from 6:30 to 8 p.m.; Ray Massa & The Eurorhythms; Fireworks at dusk
