Ambassador Claudio Bisogniero Day in Kansas City

On Monday night there was a special event at the National World War I Museum at Liberty Memorial for Kansas City's Italian-American community. The Italian Ambassador to the U.S., Claudio Bisogniero, was in town for the opening of the new War & Art exhibit at the museum. The event included remarks by museum President & CEO Matthew Naylor & Ambassador Claudio Bisogniero, local opera singer Victoria Botero performed the Italian National anthem, a champagne toast, and a preview of War & Art. Mayor Sly James also made an appearance and declared Monday, November 17, 2014 to be Ambassador Claudio Bisogniero Day in Kansas City.

This is the first time in over 50 years that the Italian ambassador has visited Kansas City. It is also the first time that the War & Art exhibited has been shown outside of Italy. The exhibit opened to the public on Tuesday and will be in Kansas City until February 18, 2015.
