The 10th annual Italian Heritage Festival is taking place in Western Gateway Park this weekend. Hundreds have already filter through the festival, enjoying Italian classics like pizza, pasta and sangria. There are more than 20 vendors at this year’s festival, along with music and family-friendly activities. Additionally, there is a wine and beer garden.
“We have a ton of entertainment,” said John Marturello Tyler, with the Society of Italian Americans. “Saturday afternoon around 4 p.m., we’ll celebrate the Mass and after that, we will have the Italian dancers, and then entertainment will kick in.” The festival runs from 10 a.m. to midnight Saturday. Admission is free until 5 p.m., after it is $5 per person.
