
Viva L'Italia, the Italian-American Heritage Festival of Iowa, will take place on Friday, July 26 and Saturday, July 27 in Des Moines' Western Gateway Park. The fourth annual event is a celebration of Italian culture that features food and beverage vendors, dancing, live music, children's activities, cooking demonstrations, art, a bocce ball tournament, a queen contest, a sauce contest, and more. Festival hours will be Friday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 a.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 a.m. Admission to the festival is free before 5 p.m. on both days with a food or monetary donation to the Food Bank of Iowa. After 5 p.m., admission is $5 for anyone twelve years old or older.
