
A Boston police officer recovering after being shot in the face during a traffic stop was honored by the National Association of Italian American Police Officers on Saturday. Officer John Moynihan, 34, was shot just below his right eye in March, with the bullet lodging below his right ear.
Moynihan received the Distinguished Medal of Valor, presented to an individual for an act of bravery under perilous circumstances while in the line of duty and demonstrates their courage and dedication as a law enforcement officer.
