Rosalind A. Cuschera, author of "Journey from San Rocco," will be the guest speaker at the Italian-American Cultural Organization meeting at 7 p.m. Nov. 7 at Grove Manor, 160 Grove St., Braintree.

Cuschera's book was published in 2013, and she received an Honorable Mention Award from The New England Book Festival. The book begins in 1918 with the death of Cuschera's grandfather in World War I. Her grandmother is left in war-torn Italy with four small children, facing a dilemma after receiving a letter from America with a marriage proposal from a man who'd left her village 12 years previously.
