The Dante Club has been a local, ingrained institution in the Italian-American community for 100 years. It's a landmark being observed with celebratory events throughout the year including Wednesday's "Dante Club Bistro in the Lot."
Members enjoyed a homemade Italian meal with a roast pig as the centerpiece during Wednesday's gathering, the second event this year paying homage to the club's rich history that began in Springfield on Worthington Street before finding its permanent home at the current 1198 Memorial Ave., address in West Springfield.
