A patron of a restaurant destroyed by fire Sunday is hoping to raise money for the family owners via a GoFundMe.com effort. Ciao Pasta, an Italian eatery in Northfield, was damaged beyond repair during a two-alarm Sunday which drew firefighters from across the Lakes Region and central New Hampshire.
Hayley DeSousa, a patron of the restaurant and friend of the owners, said she could not "sit by and do nothing," so she set up the fund hoping to raise $20,000. Since the creation of the site two days ago, about $1,800 has been raised from 24 donors.
