Composer Giuseppe Verdi's bold and fascinating opera, Rigoletto, will be presented live and fully staged in Middletown on Saturday, May 14. Performed by the acclaimed CT Lyric Opera company and CT Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra, the Greater Middletown Concert Association hosts this one-night-only event at Middletown's MHS Performing Arts Center, 200 LaRosa Lane, at 7:30 p.m.
The opera is a triumph of the 19th century Romantic Period and its spirit, which rebelled against many of the earlier repetitive formulas for opera. It will be sung in its original Italian language with English subtitles projected above the stage.
