The group that has been fighting to save Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church from demolition is making another bid to have the church property become part of a local historic district.
The Mount Carmel Preservation Society is asking the Historical Commission to consider creating a study committee that would look into the feasibility of such a historic district, which would include the church property, and possibly the historic Mission Chapel at 205 Summer St., Union Station and other historically significant landmarks within that area.
