The North End Historical Society (NEHS) is thrilled to announce that the North End will have its own Historical Museum for the first time! “Establishing a Historical Museum has been a passionate vision and one of our long-term goals since our inception in 2010. It is essential in fulfilling our mission to help preserve and enhance the history and heritage of the North End in perpetuity.”

The Museum will be located on the first floor of 3 Prince Street, “Little Prince Street.” It is on the Freedom Trail between Hanover Street and North Square in the heart of the North End. This dream is made possible by Frank DePasquale of Depasquale Ventures.

Frank is a North End Leader who cares deeply about our iconic neighborhood, which led him to invest in NEHS’s mission by purchasing the first-floor Condo space at 3 Prince Street. Frank believes that the NEHS has demonstrated it is the perfect non-profit organization to build and operate a museum for our beloved North End. DePasquale Ventures will perform the construction build-out and provide a rent-free lease for 5 years.

In the meantime, the NEHS has begun working with a firm specializing in developing immersive and interactive digital displays and programs for museums. They will help us tell the 400-year history of the North End as the cradle of liberty for the U.S. This neighborhood was an essential stepping stone for millions of immigrants from many countries to America. These are emotionally stirring and inspiring stories that need to be told. Our goal is to have the Museum open within 12 months.

Frank DePasquale was pivotal in getting us started. We need additional help building the critical intellectual, educational, and technological programs to meet our goal. We will be planning a capital fundraising campaign. We know that many of our members, former North Enders, and many supporters and friends of the North End will want to donate to the museum.

To begin fundraising, we ask NEHS members and others to prime the pump for this effort and make a generous donation. Here is a link: https://www.paypal.com/donate/

Stay tuned for more critical details on how you can help and participate in this new and exciting step forward for the North End!

Long Live the North End!
