Joseph Spremulli, who serves as president of the Pannese Society of Rhode Island, made a unique two-stop road trip last Thursday morning. The Italian-American non-profit's elder statesman did so to deliver what he called "two important thank yous" at two different locations.

Spremulli, who lives in Johnston, didn't have far to travel for his first stop, The Original Italian Bakery at 915 Atwood Ave. "I'd like to see Don [DePetrillo]," Spremulli said. "We have a special gift for him."
