On behalf of the Mount Carmel Preservation Society, we respectfully ask the City Council and the City's Historic Commission to vote to approve Our Lady of Mount Carmel block as a local historic district. Voting to ensure this space and building is protected is for the benefit for our neighborhood, economic growth of our city, our cultural identity as a multi-cultural city, and for the sustainability of our parish and its beloved church.

Preservation is about celebrating something that is precious, meaningful, and good for ALL people and the aesthetic of our surroundings. The act of preservation is a form of unification and defining who we are as a community.
