Local Italian women's club Sorelle d'Italia in America has joined with the Sons of Italy and Unico to make the 12th annual Italian American Festival, which returns July 29 to 31, bigger and better than ever. "We have been around for six years and this is our first year joining as co-sponsor," said club member Gianna Mennone. "As one of the three major Italian clubs in town, we are glad to be allowed to join in."

"We want to bring in more people to keep the tradition going," said Carmine Mennone, Gianna's father and a member of the Sons of Italy. The festival will be held July 29 from 5 to 11 p.m., July 30 from 1 to 11 p.m. and July 31 from noon to 6 p.m. on lower Center Street.
