From 9 October 2015 until 6 January 2016, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York will host a major retrospective of Italian artist Alberto Burri, entitled "Alberto Burri: The Trauma of Painting". The exhibition is organised by Emily Braun, guest curator at the Guggenheim museum and professor at Hunter College.
The show will be the first retrospective of Burri's works to take place in the United States for over 35 years, and will showcase well-known works in addition to works that will be less familiar to American audiences.
