Chelsea's Agora Gallery will feature the original work of Torino artist Nicoletta Balani in The Chelsea International Fine Art Competition Exhibition. The exhibition opens on August 22, 2014 and will remain on view until September 11, 2014. The opening reception will take place on the evening of Thursday, August 28, at 6-8pm.
Referencing her personal experience of reality, relationships, and social issues in a direct expression of her existence, Nicoletta Balani paints the "invisible cities" of the soul. Graphically bold and design-centered, Balani's art playfully balances dominance and sensitivity, pairing saturated color with a smooth and expressive brushstroke. Balani works in acrylic and oil paints on canvas and canvas panel and signs each piece as "Nico."
