Mayor Rich David and members of the Italian-American community held a press conference on Wednesday to discuss details for the 59th annual Columbus Day Parade, Tournament of Marching Bands and Italian Festival. The event will begin Monday, October 8th, at 9 A.M. outside of Binghamton City Hall where the Italian Flag will be raised.
Shortly after, the parade will begin at the intersection of Main and Arthur Street., down Main Street towards downtown across the Court Street bridge finishing at the Broome County Courthouse. The Italian festival will start at the end of the parade on Water Street until 2 P.M. Food will be provided by The Sons of Italy, St. Mary's Parish and Abruzzee social club. Some of the items on the menu will be Italian Wedding Soup, Cannolis, Sausage and peppers.
