The Belmont section of the Bronx will host their annual Ferragosto festival that draws thousands of visitors from the tri-state area and beyond to the intersection of all-things-Italian at world-famous Arthur Avenue and East 187th Street on Sunday, September 7, from noon until 6pm. This ancient Roman festival dates back to 18 B.C. when the gathering was created in honor of the emperor, Caesar Augustus.
The Ferragosto celebration includes food and merchandise from the merchants of Belmont, Commedia dell'Arte – traditional Italian Street Performances, celebrity guests, and great musical performances. The musical performances include: The 70′s Project, Elio Scaccio and Gina Ricci, Prima Vera, and Steve Lippia and his 10 piece orchestra band.
