The former Festa Italiana is undergoing a makeover in its 34th year, but committee co-chairman Tom Palumbo wants to reassure festival-goers they can still expect the same features they've grown to love.
"We're going to have the same great food we've always had; we're going to have the same great music we've always had," he said.
The upcoming festival has been renamed the St. John's Church Block Party — an ode to its beginnings as a North Olean block party — and will last just one day, from noon to 11 p.m. this Saturday, as opposed to the usual two days. The festival will also charge $5 for general admission after being free for several years.
