On Friday, July 28, representatives from the National Organization of Italian American Women met with Hon. Laura Boldrini, the President of Italy's Chamber of Deputies (Camera dei Deputati), at the Casa Italiana Zerilli-Marimò at New York University. Hon Francesco Genuardi, the Consul General of Italy in New York, hosted the meeting.

President Boldrini spoke to us enthusiastically about her initiatives in support of women in Italy. She started with one of the most basic elements of communication, which most people take for granted: language. In 2015, President Boldrini sent a letter to Italian officials with new guidelines on how to refer to female politicians.
