The new Schuyler County Legacy Lane in Watkins Glen’s Lafayette Park, a project of the Schuyler County Italian-American Festival, will be dedicated Monday. The 6:30 p.m. ceremony will start off the festival, which will run a few days later, Aug. 11 to 13, at Clute Park on Route 414 in Watkins Glen. Among festival features is the return of the always-popular cake booth, presented this year by Lake Country Players.
All are invited to the Legacy Lane dedication, which will include remarks from Watkins Glen Mayor Sam Schimizzi and other community leaders. Italian treats will be offered as refreshments. The Legacy Lane was designed as a partnership project with the Village of Watkins Glen to celebrate the people, places and events of Schuyler County while at the same time supporting the Italian-American Festival, now in its 38th year.
