2016 Ambasciatore Awards Ceremony and Dinner. ** Submit a Nominee by November 30, 2015 ** Honoring Outstanding Italian American Leaders and their Italian American Organizations. Sunday, January 24, 2016 - Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury, NY.
The Italian American Museum will host the Long Island Ambasciatore Awards on Sunday, January 24, 2016 to honor exemplary men and women who have made a significant contribution to their community through a unique achievement or outstanding service. The Museum is looking upon your organization to select an Ambasciatore Award recipient for 2016. The Award recipient should reflect the values and traditions that have made established the Italian American community as a major component of American society and are in tune with the Museum's mission statement.
The Italian American Museum is dedicated to raising public awareness and appreciation of the individual and collective struggles and achievements of all Italian Americans and their heirs. The Museum celebrates the accomplishments and contributions of all Italian Americans to the American culture and way of life in every sector.
Why should our organization nominate someone for an Italian American Museum Ambasciatore Award?
This award is a way to acknowledge and recognize a member locally and nationally, through the Museum's website, who has contributed significantly to his or her community.
How are the recipients of the awards selected?
In your organization's evaluation, you will consider the direct effect of the individual's contribution as well as other factors such as community impact, commitment, and length of service. Your organization may only nominate one person to receive the award. The Italian American Museum retains the right to make the final decision. Nominations will remain confidential between your organization and the Museum.
How does our organization nominate someone for this award?
Submit your organization's name and contact information with the nominee's name and address. Please include a brief personal history or biographical sketch of the nominee that describes the value and impact of the nominee's contributions to his/her community. This will be listed in the event's program. A nomination form is included for your convenience. Nominations may be submitted to my attention via mail, fax or scan and emailing the completed form.
What do the Awards recipients receive?
At a formal ceremony and festive dinner the Museum's president will present each newly-installed Ambasciatore individually with a medal. Their names and the event will also be recognized on the Museum's website. Due to time restrictions recipients will not individually speak when they are presented with their Award Medal.
Please submit your nominations by November 30, 2015 as recipients' names will be announced shortly after that date.
