
It's not all pizza fritta and pastaciotti. But if it were, I would be more than all right with that. The Sts. Cosmas and Damian Festival is a religious festival, with participants making the pilgrimage to St. Anthony and St. Agnes Church in East Utica on tour buses from all over the Northeast and Canada to participate.
But even though the purpose of the festa is faith-based, it often is referred to as the Italian Festival because of its heritage. For my family, we always felt like we had an inside line with the saints, since my little brother shares his middle name with St. Damian.
